You can take everything I have

I cannot, cannot, cannot do one thing at a time.

So in the middle of work, I have to find a few distractions so I am able to work effeciently. Multi-tasker, eh? Or actually, maybe I just have a very short attention span.

Or perhaps it was a habit I developed during my honours year - those long hours researching and writing for my thesis. I remember blogging, researching, listening to music, searching for lyrics, taking down notes, chatting, all at the same time. Yes, I know. I am awesome, muahaha. No, seriously, I got a good grade for that thesis, too, ok!

Anyways. Here's one of the pitfalls of multi-tasking - I sometimes lose the point.

And the point of this entry is to put up a somewhat new-ish song. English, too!

Demi Lovato - Skyscraper

When I first heard this song, I hated it. It sounds way too emo for my liking (still does) and the singer was trying to hard with the tortured singing.

But I came across an article about this song, and what inspired the songwriters to pen such lyrics. One of them elaborated that she drew inspiration from a painting of an apocalypse, an image of everything in ruins but there stands a lone skyscraper.

Very (textbook) inspirational, huh?

In the end, I searched for the song and found its extremely uninspirational MV.

However, I'm listening to the song now with somewhat less dislike.

I suppose this is a case of not being able to put down what you're feeling into good enough tangible material (words, image, etc).

But 16-year-old girls will definitely love this song for its me-against-the-world message. Not too bad, but also don't forget girls, you don't have to have a me-against-the-world mindset. Choose something more positive, like having a I'm-the-best mindset, instead.

Muahahaha.
